By PaulCait Willis is curating Paul Dahlquist’s new show at Ghost Gallery and has included paintings and Drawings from the 50s and 60s when he spent time with Northwest Artists Including Mark Tobey and Guy Anderson.
He lived with Wesley Weir and worked for Zoe Dusanne. Unfortunately, photography was not his medium until the 70s.
Dahlquist is calling his show “Presences”, a word used by Wendell Berry in his novel, “Jayber Crow”. Presences is any specific time, place or subject that is intensely experienced. Some fine Presences are not recorded for posterity.
This current show will have portraits, light studies, urban subjects and figures; Parents are alerted that adult material is included.
There will be an artist’s reception on Thursday November 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00PM.
